Germany is considered as one of the finest places of learning in Europe.

It is highly preferred for research and graduate students to perceive their higher education.

But Germany like other European countries can be very expensive to survive and study.

Scholarships in Germany:

DAAD partner university is offering scholarships for doctoral candidates and also to the one who want to continue their doctoral degree in Germany.

Guidelines for application:

1. If your university is a DAAD partner university then need to contact DAAD campus coordinator.

2. Or else your application to send directly to DAAD Newyork office.

Deadline for submission of application:

May 15th is the last date for all applicants who are applying directly to DAAD Newyork office.

Application deadline for the academic year 2016-2017:

Nov 4 2015 is the deadline for 10 month and short term grants deadline and May 15 2016 for short term grants.

How to Apply:

1. In order to get application login to DAAD online portal there you will find scholarship database.
2. There you have to fill the nationality and your subject.
3. From the list of scholarships you need to select the one which you are fit.
4. Atlast submit the application.

Once it is done the applicant need to take hard copy of that application and fill the required information and send to DAAD Newyork university with required documents

DAAD Scholarships (Re-invitation Programme for Former Scholarship Holders)

To study in Germany there are many scholarships for international students. Of them is scholarships offered by DAAD is quite unique.

DAAD is an abbreviated form for German Academic Exchange Service providing scholarships for study in Germany.

The aim of the programme is to help former scholarship holders to carry out their research and working projects in Germany.

The program is a type of student exchange to improve relations and knowledge.

Who can apply:

1.Former DAAD scholarship holders who are funded for more than six months.

2. Former east German scholarship holders who studied for atleast one year in Germany.

Funding is meant for:

1. Research and working projects of the state.

2. For former scholarship holder (non- science) for working stay.

Duration of Funding:

1.one to three months and the value of the grant depends on selection committee.

2. And is non renewable.

Monetary value:

1. For assistant teachers, assistant professors and lecturers 2000 euros monthly.

2. For professors 2150 euros.

For former scholarship holders(non-science) monthly payments are calculated based on their qualifications.

Rules for the application for DAAD scholarships:

1. One must be above 18years of age to apply for the scholarship. However there is no upper age limit for applicants unless specified by the host institute.DAAD scholarships

2. The candidate must possess a graduation degree or must be about to complete his degree. In that case he should have completed the graduation before funds from scholarships are allotted to him.

3. One must be well versed in German language for perceiving arts and social sciences. But for natural science and engineering having good knowledge of English  is sufficient. One may be needed to prove their efficiency in English language.

4. Students willing to perceive masters, PhD (doctoral) or post doctoral research are only eligible for fellowship.

5. Candidate should have completed not more than 6years after receiving his graduation degree or not more than 3years of his doctoral degree to be eligible for scholarships. For post docs, not more than 2years should have been completed after his doctoral degree.

6. For those who have already registered for some course in Germany are also eligible to apply. But they should not completed more than 15months of stay there.

7. The candidate availing this fellowship can work on part time basis only after getting permission from DAAD. Further any income more than € 450 is counted against (deducted) his scholarship. In no case one is allowed to take up part time job in such a way it disturbs the candidates studies.

8. However no scholarship holder can take up a secondary job

The amount of scholarship is about € 650 for those graduate students while it is € 750 for postgraduate and around € 1,000 for doctoral candidates and postdocs. Besides DAAD also pays travel expenses and health insurance based on the requirements.

Even DAAD scholarship holders are exempt from paying tuition fee.

The last date for application is July-31st 2015.

Deutschland Stipendium to study in a German university:

This is a scholarship with an amount of 300 euros for those studying a German universities. The scholarship is meant for at-least two semesters but may be extended till the entire period of study after evaluation.

This scholarships can be taken in addition to any other financial aid. That is those with any other source of financial aid are also eligible for this scholarship.
